The Alien: Contradiction

Dies ist der 12. "Poem of the Month"-Eintrag. Kein Mensch liest heutzutage Gedichte. Nur Aliens tun das.

'Contradiction' ist schon 11 Jahre alt. Und das ist gut so.

Unruhe, Unruhe, Unruhe in mir.

Ich brenne
Weine
Schreie
Lache

Unruhe, Unruhe, Unruhe in mir.

Marie-Luise Kaschnitz: Das Interview

Wenn er kommt, der Besucher,
Der Neugierige und dich fragt,
Dann bekenne ihm, daß du keine Briefmarken sammelst,
Keine farbigen Aufnahmen machst,
Keine Kakteen züchtest.
Daß du kein Haus hast,
Keinen Fernsehapparat,
Keine Zimmerlinde.

Andrew Marvell: To His Coy Mistress (17th ct.)

Had we but world enough, and time,
This coyness, lady, were no crime.
We would sit down and think which way
To walk, and pass our long love's day;
Thou by the Indian Ganges' side
Shouldst rubies find; I by the tide
Of Humber would complain. I would
Love you ten years before the Flood;
And you should, if you please, refuse
Till the conversion of the Jews.
My vegetable love should grow
Vaster than empires, and more slow.
An hundred years should go to praise
Thine eyes, and on thy forehead gaze;
Two hundred to adore each breast,
But thirty thousand to the rest;
An age at least to every part,
And the last age should show your heart.
For, lady, you deserve this state,
Nor would I love at lower rate.

But at my back I always hear
Time's winged chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.
Thy beauty shall no more be found,
Nor, in thy marble vault, shall sound
My echoing song; then worms shall try
That long preserv'd virginity,
And your quaint honour turn to dust,
And into ashes all my lust.
The grave's a fine and private place,
But none I think do there embrace.

Now therefore, while the youthful hue
Sits on thy skin like morning dew,
And while thy willing soul transpires
At every pore with instant fires,
Now let us sport us while we may;
And now, like am'rous birds of prey,
Rather at once our time devour,
Than languish in his slow-chapp'd power.
Let us roll all our strength, and all
Our sweetness, up into one ball;
And tear our pleasures with rough strife
Thorough the iron gates of life.
Thus, though we cannot make our sun
Stand still, yet we will make him run.

Wilhelm Busch: summa summarum

Sag, wie wär es, alter Schragen,
Wenn du mal die Brille putztest,
Um ein wenig nachzuschlagen,
Wie du deine Zeit benutztest.

Oft wohl hätten dich so gerne
Weiche Arme weich gebettet;
Doch du standest kühl von ferne,
Unbewegt, wie angekettet.

Oft wohl kams, dass du die schöne
Zeit vergrimmtest und vergrolltest,
Nur weil diese oder jene
Nicht gewollt, so wie du wolltest.

Demnach hast du dich vergebens
Meistenteils herumgetrieben;
Denn die Summe unsres Lebens
Sind die Stunden, wo wir lieben.

Lenore Kandel: GOD/LOVE POEM

there are no ways of love but / beautiful /
I love you all of them

I love you / your cock in my hands
    stirs like a bird

in my fingers
as you swell and grow hard in my hand
forcing my fingers open
with your rigid strength
you are beautiful / you are beautiful
you are a hundred times beautiful
I stroke you with my loving hands
pink-nailed long fingers

I caress you
I adore you
my finger-tips… my palms…
your cock rises and throbs in my hands
a revelation / as Aphrodite knew it

there was a time when gods were purer
/ I can recall nights among the honeysuckle
our juices sweeter than honey
/ we were the temple and the god entire/

I am naked against you
and I put my mouth on you slowly
I have longing to kiss you
and my tongue makes worship on you
you are beautiful

your body moves to me
flesh to flesh
skin sliding over golden skin
as mine to yours
my mouth my tongue my hands
my belly and my legs
against your mouth your love
sliding…sliding…
our bodies move and join
unbearably

your face above me
is the face of all the gods
and beautiful demons

your eyes…

love touches love
the temple and the god
are one

Mascha Kaléko: Der kleine Unterschied

Es sprach zum Mister Goodwill
ein deutscher Emigrant:
»Gewiß, es bleibt dasselbe,
sag ich nun land statt Land,
sag ich für Heimat homeland
und poem für Gedicht.
Gewiss, ich bin sehr happy:
Doch glücklich bin ich nicht.«

W.H. Auden: Funeral Blues

  Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Rainer Maria Rilke: Der Panther

Alexander Montgomerie: A Description of Tyme (16th ct.)

Tak tyme in tym, or tyme will not be tane;
Thairfor tak tent how thou this tyme suld tak:
Sho hes no hold, to hold hir by, but ane;
A toppe befor, but beld behind hir bak.
Let thou her slippe, or slipperly grow slak,
Thou gettis no grippe agane fra sho be gane.
If thou wald speid, rememember what i spak;
Tak tyme in tyme or tym will not be tane.

For i haif hard in adagies of auld,
That tyme dois waist and weir all things away;
Then trow the taill that trew men oft hes tauld-
A turne in tyme is ay worth other tway.
Siklyk, I haif hard oft-tymis suith men say,
That negligence yit nevir furtherit nane;
Als, seindle tymis luck followes long delayis.
Tak tyme in tyme or tym will not be tane.

Charles Baudelaire: Der Vampir

Du, die wie ein Messerstoß
In mein stöhnend Herz gedrungen,
Die wie wilden Heeres Troß
Wüst und prangend mich bezwungen,

Die erniedrigt meinen Geist
Sich zur Wohn- und Lagerstätte;
Scheusal, an das ich geschweißt
Wie der Sträfling an der Kette

Wie der Spieler an die Sucht,
Wie der Trinker an das Glas,
Wie an das Gewürm das Aas -
Sei verflucht du, sei verflucht!

Mir die Freiheit zu erringen,
Flehte ich das rasche Schwert,
Meine Feigheit zu bezwingen,
Hab ich tückisch Gift begehrt.

Gift und Schwert - verächtlich böse
Boten sie mir Wort, die zwei:
Bist nicht wert, daß man dich löse
Aus verworfner Sklaverei

Narr! wenn von der Herrschaft Schrecken
Dich befreite unser Mut,
Würdest du mit frischer Glut
Den Vampir zum Leben wecken.

Barry Cole: Reported Missing

Can you give me a precise description?
Said the policeman. Her lips, I told him,
Were soft. Could you give me, he said, pencil
Raised, a metaphor? Soft as an open mouth,
I said. Were there any noticeable
Peculiarities? he asked. Her hair hung
Heavily, I said. Any particular
Colour? he said. I told him I could recall
Little but its distinctive scent. What do
You mean, he asked, by distinctive? It had
The smell of woman's hair, I said. Where
Were you? he asked. Closer than I am to
Anyone at present, I said, level
With her mouth, level with her eyes. Her eyes?
He said, what about her eyes? There were two,
I said, both black. It has been established,
He said, that eyes cannot, outside common
Usage, be black; are you implying that
Violence was used? Only the gentle
Hammer blow of her kisses, the scent
Of her breath, the ... Quite, said the policeman,
Standing, but I regret that we know of
No one answering to that description.

Naučio sam ljubiti stvari sitne i nevažne.
I malenkost me o bitnom čaru uči.
Ja cijenim čašu vode i pogačice ražne,
a u dnu vode sna tek me oblak muči.

I moja usna slasni eter sisa,
na crni usud nikad se ne jadam.

Još ću na kraju voljeti vrline
i pravi čovjek mene će da divi.
Jer gade mi se pljuvačke i sline
i shvatam kad se prijateljski živi.

Prebolio sam strasti, pa i ljutu pizmu.
Prekužio sam gnjev na vjerolomstvo.
Prostosrdno se čudim vandalizmu.
Ja bivam mlađi. Svijete, ja sam tvoje potomstvo.
